Role Overview:
\n<\/strong>The Customs Clearance Junior Officer plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient and compliant clearance of import and export shipments. This position is essential in maintaining strong relationships with customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams, facilitating seamless coordination throughout the clearance process. The role ensures that all customs documentation and regulatory requirements are accurately met, supporting operational efficiency and aligning service delivery with industry standards and client expectations<\/span><\/p>\n

Key Responsibilities:
\n<\/strong>\u2022 Oversee the validation and accuracy of customs documentation, including declarations, commercial invoices, and packing lists, ensuring compliance with regulations.
\n\u2022 Classify products under appropriate customs tariff codes and ensure precise declaration of goods.
\n\u2022 Maintain strict adherence to customs regulations, import\/export requirements, and relevant trade agreements to ensure seamless operations.
\n\u2022 Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and carriers to facilitate timely submission of clearance documents and ensure smooth customs processes.
\n\u2022 Serve as the primary liaison with customs authorities, tracking clearance progress, resolving inquiries, and addressing compliance concerns.
\n\u2022 Manage customs inspections, audits, and additional clearance requirements, ensuring all procedural guidelines are met.
\n\u2022 Maintain comprehensive records of customs activities, including permits, licenses, and regulatory certificates, to support transparency and compliance.
\n\u2022 Prepare reports detailing customs clearance activities, duty and tax payments, and any regulatory challenges encountered.
\n\u2022 Establish an organized record-keeping system for customs documentation and essential compliance materials.
\n\u2022 Collaborate closely with internal teams\u2014logistics, operations, and sales\u2014to gather critical information for seamless customs clearance.
\n\u2022 Engage with external stakeholders, including customs authorities, freight forwarders, and customers, to address clearance-related concerns and optimize processes.
\n\u2022 Foster positive relationships with customs officials and industry partners to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory adherence.
\n\u2022 Stay informed on evolving customs regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements to adapt processes accordingly.

Requirements:
\n<\/strong>\u2022 High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in customs regulations is a plus.
\n\u2022 5-7 years of experience in customs clearance, import\/export operations, or a similar role in the freight forwarding industry.
\n\u2022 Well-versed in customs laws, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
\n\u2022 Proficiency in English (written and verbal). Additional languages may be advantageous.
\n\u2022 Fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general internet navigation and research skills.
