When a global home appliances manufacturer needed to scale its South Africa supply chain, the requirement went far beyond standard freight forwarding. The customer needed a logistics partner that could manage high-volume imports, secure significant warehouse capacity, maintain stock accuracy, support retail distribution commitments, and provide visibility across the movement of goods. In a fast-moving consumer market, the pressure was clear: products had to move reliably from port arrival to retail delivery, with every milestone managed accurately and on time.
In Q2 2026, ISS GF in South Africa has imported, cleared, stored, and distributed approximately 40 x 40′ HQ containers of household appliances, including refrigerators, washing machines, and air conditioning units. The solution covers the full cargo flow: customs clearance, transport from Durban port to the ISS GF Johannesburg warehouse, storage, and final distribution to major retail chains.

The scale of the operation has developed quickly. The customer’s cargo currently occupies more than 50% of the Johannesburg warehouse, with plans to increase to around 80% of the available space before Q3 2026.
A critical part of the operation is also the move toward system integration between ISS GF’s warehouse management and transport management systems and the customer’s order management system, supporting greater transparency across stock, delivery status, and shipment milestones.
What makes this operation significant is not only the volume handled, but the model being built to serve the market at scale. ISS GF in South Africa is managing a connected supply chain where each milestone supports the next. As customer requirements become larger, faster, and more visibility-driven, this operation demonstrates the value of a logistics partner that can bring freight, contract logistics, technology, and distribution together as one operating platform.
